Our story
The technical truth about any car, from a single glance
EV Lens exists because the most important facts about a vehicle — how it’s powered, where its parts come from, and what it really costs the planet — are scattered across brochures, spec sheets and marketing. We put them behind your camera instead.
Why we built it
Recognition is easy. Understanding is the hard part.
Plenty of tools can name a car. Far fewer can tell you whether that hybrid badge means a mild-hybrid or a genuine plug-in, which factory built the battery, or how many kilometres it takes before an electric alternative actually pays back its manufacturing carbon. EV Lens was built to answer the second kind of question — honestly, with sources and confidence attached rather than confident hand-waving.
What we stand for
Principles that shape every screen
Evidence over assertion
Every claim carries its source and a confidence level. We separate reviewed facts from prototype estimates, and we never let AI-discovered claims quietly overwrite trusted data.
Privacy by design
Analysis starts on your device, only cropped stills are sent for recognition, and location becomes a country code — not coordinates — before anything leaves your phone.
Honest about models
Lifecycle CO₂ and break-even distances are presented as models with visible assumptions and ranges — useful for judgement, never dressed up as absolute fact.
